Hello
Hi everyone, I'm Travis Rhea. I grew up on a farm and ranch in Northwest Kansas, where I was taught a work ethic and mindset of hard work and discipline. I have played competitive sports my whole life and coached multiple sports for over 20 years starting with Volleyball, then Golf and Tennis and most recent 3 years with pickleball. I am a multiple Gold Medal winner in pickleball tournaments at the 4.0 level and over the last 3 years have worked with many junior and competitive adult pickleball players.
My Story
I’ve dedicated my life to coaching athletes across various sports—volleyball, golf, tennis, and pickleball. Throughout this journey, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with talented individuals, each with their unique aspirations and dreams. However, amidst all the victories and challenges, one question lingered in my mind: What separates the top athletes who consistently achieve success from those who struggle to find their footing?
Initially, my focus was solely on the physical aspects of training. I honed my athletes’ technique, improved their skills, and strategized for competitions. However, as I observed the subtle nuances that made some athletes shine brighter than others, I realized that there was something deeper at play—their mindset. This epiphany marked the beginning of my exploration into the realm of mental conditioning and the routines that shape elite performance.
I immersed myself in studying the mindset and psychological strategies of top athletes. I discovered common threads among the greats: unwavering belief in themselves, resilience in the face of adversity, and meticulous attention to their mental routines. They weren't just athletes; they were masters of their own minds.
Incorporating these principles into my coaching, I began to emphasize the importance of mental training alongside physical preparation. I introduced visualization techniques, goal-setting exercises, and mindfulness practices to my athletes. The transformation was remarkable. Athletes who once faced mental blocks and self-doubt began to embrace their potential. They learned to visualize their success and approach each competition with a newfound confidence.

As I continued to coach, I expanded my approach even further. I sought to understand the individual needs of each athlete, recognizing that mental conditioning is not a one-size-fits-all solution. I adapted my methods, creating personalized routines that aligned with their unique goals and personalities. This tailored approach allowed me to connect with my athletes on a deeper level, fostering trust and openness.
Today, my coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that success is a balance of mind and body. I’ve seen athletes rise to the occasion, accomplishing feats they once thought impossible. They’ve learned to embrace failure as a stepping stone rather than a setback, cultivating resilience that echoes both on and off the court.

Ultimately, my quest to understand the “why” behind the success of top athletes has shaped not only my coaching approach but my own perspective on life. The belief that we can achieve what we envision is a powerful catalyst—one that I hope to instill in every athlete I coach for years to come. Because in the world of sports, as in life, if you believe it, you will see it.
